Online Permitting

Beware of Permit-Related Email Scams

The City of Coral Springs has been made aware of a recent scam targeting individuals and businesses who have applied for building permits, Community Development petitions, architectural review, or making payments for code citations. Scammers are sending fraudulent emails that appear to come from the city and may include:

  • City branding, logos, or signatures
  • Names of actual city staff
  • Email addresses that look legitimate but contain an added extension such as “.USA”
  • Requests for payment of fees via wire transfer

Please note: The City of Coral Springs does NOT request wire transfers for permitting or plan review fees. All official payments must be made through the city’s authorized online payment portal.

If you receive an email requesting wire transfers, asking for sensitive information, or appearing suspicious in any way:

  • Do not respond
  • Do not send payment
  • Do not click links or open attachments

Your safety and security are our priority. Thank you for helping us prevent fraud and protect our community.
