The City of Coral Springs Emergency Management Department serves the city’s preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation needs by coordinating information and resources between city departments, partner agencies, volunteer organizations, and the community.

Michael Caldaro currently oversees Emergency Operations for the City of Coral Springs. Caldaro has 40 years of experience working in fire rescue and has been deployed to assist with numerous major disasters including Hurricane Katrina, Haiti Earthquake, Surfside Collapse, and COVID-19. Caldaro is also a FEMA-certified instructor and serves with the SE Florida Region 7 Incident Management Team.

Alert Coral Springs is the city’s emergency notification system. This allows the city to notify residents about potential incidents in their area. These incidents can include but are not limited to: gas leaks, boil water notices, storm information, etc.

The City of Coral Springs is dedicated to helping residents before and after a hurricane. Hurricane Season takes place from June-November, with the peak occurring September-October.
