Palms

Property owners are responsible for replacing landscaping that they remove or that dies, including lawns, trees and shrubs.

The below reference guide contains a list of palm trees that are recommended to use when planting. Please visit a landscape nursery for other tree species. If there are any questions, please contact City Forester, Casey Lee at 954-344-1117.

All palms trees on this list requires three individual root balls.

Palm trees listed here only require one palm tree root ball to be planted.

Requirements:

  • Florida Grade #1 quality or better
  • 12’ – 14’ Minimum overall height at time of planting.
  • 4’ – 5’ Planted spread apart.
  • 5’ – 6’ Clear trunk-single leader.
  • 2” Diameter at breast height.
  • All Palms except for three species are required to be planted in “threes” to create shade; most have three separate root balls. Exception to the “threes” requirement.
