A new way to experience art is coming to Downtown Coral Springs! The Coral Springs Museum of Art (CSMoA) is excited to announce its upcoming move from its current location at 2855 Coral Springs Drive to a new downtown gallery space on the corner of University Drive and Sample Road.

Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the transition.

When will the museum gallery move to its new location?

CSMoA is slated to relocate to Downtown Coral Springs during the Summer of 2026. Updates on the exact timing, including an opening reception for the relocated CSMoA’s inaugural exhibition, will be shared on the museum’s website and social media channels.

How did this project come about?

Serving a dual role as the Museum of Art Board of Directors, the Coral Springs City Commission, along with city leadership, have always believed that investing in the arts makes us a stronger, more vibrant community. The City Commission voted unanimously at the Commission Meeting on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, to approved the lease agreement with Mill Creek for the new space.

How was the project funded?

The project will be funded through the city’s approved capital budget, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)’s capital fund, and landlord/tenant allowances.

A request to approve build-out services was presented to and approved by the City Commission on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The project will be funded with approximately $2 million via the approved city capital budget in addition to $1 million in funding from the CRA’s capital fund, which was approved during their meeting on Monday, November 17, 2025. Approximately $500,000 in landlord/tenant allowances from the property owner will also be contributed. In addition, funding from the CRA will pay $179,300 per year toward the cost to lease the new space, increasing that amount by 3% every year until 2032.

Why move the CSMoA gallery?

Relocating downtown will aim to help transition CSMoA from its perception as a “hidden gem” and strive to elevate it as a more prominent and easily accessible modern art gallery. By moving to a more central, walkable downtown space, CSMoA can strengthen its presence as a destination for art and culture in Coral Springs and South Florida.

What artwork will be displayed in the new gallery?

The new museum will continue to feature a variety of artwork, including rotating exhibitions, contemporary pieces, and works by local, national, and international artists. Exhibitions are scheduled through December 2028; however, the exact timing of each exhibition is still being determined.

Will the size of the gallery be the same?

The downtown location’s exhibition space will be slightly smaller than the current gallery. However, the new museum will feature a flexible gallery space with movable walls and a multipurpose area to maximize the visitor experience.

Will the downtown gallery have a new brand?

Yes! A new logo and brand have been created in-house by the City of Coral Springs Communications & Marketing team to accompany CSMoA’s elevated downtown presence. The brand will be featured on one-of-a-kind merchandise, signage and promotional material, once the new space is opened.

What will happen to the old gallery space at 2855 Coral Springs Drive?

The current gallery space will transform into a fully rentable space ideal for hosting private and community events (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, etc.), resulting in increased revenue-generating opportunities.

Where will classes and programs take place?

Both the old and new museum facilities will be activated with engaging educational programming. Art classes will continue to be held at the current building located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive, utilizing CSMoA’s established drawing, painting, mixed media and ceramics studios.

A variety of one-day workshops, after-hours events, and exhibit-related experiences will be held at the new location. Guests are encouraged to visit the museum website and social media channels for the latest information on location details.

Will admission still be free?

Yes! Admission to the Coral Springs Museum of Art will remain free to the public.

Will there be a coffee shop?

Yes! Although run as a separate entity, the new downtown location will include an adjacent coffee shop where guests can enjoy specialty coffees, teas, light bites, and pastries.

Will there be a retail store?

Yes. The CSMoA store will offer a curated selection of items, including handmade works from local artisans, unique gifts, books, and branded merchandise inspired by the museum.

Will parking be available at the new location?

Yes. Visitors will find free public parking in the connected Cornerstone parking garage. Free parking is also located at the City Hall Parking garage, located just a short walk from the museum entrance.
