Battalion Chief Robert Thomas, Support Services

Robert Thomas serves as Battalion Chief of the Support Services Division for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. Since joining the department in 2014, he has progressed through the ranks, serving as Firefighter/Paramedic, Driver Engineer, Lieutenant, and Captain. He is also an active member of both the Dive Team and SWAT Team. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized with two Unit Citations, a Lifesaving Award, and two Phoenix Awards.

Chief Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University and is a Certified General Contractor. Prior to joining Coral Springs-Parkland, he dedicated seven years to Marion County Fire Rescue. In addition, he spent several years as an instructor for EMT and Paramedic programs.

Chief Thomas returned to South Florida to be closer to family, where he continues to serve his community with professionalism and commitment. And looks forward to his new role.
