Battalion Chief Sophia Moser

Battalion Chief Sophia Moser began her career as a Fire Explorer at the age of 14. She joined Coral Springs in 2004 as a full time Firefighter/Paramedic. Sophia has been involved in many areas of the department as well as other professional organizations. In 2006 she was promoted to Lead Medic, in 2009 to Captain and served as a step-up Battalion Chief for over 7 years before her promotion in January 2025.

Sophia is currently a member of FEMA’s USAR Florida Task Force II and has been on multiple deployments since joining the team in 2005. She has been a member of the Department’s Honor Guard for over 15 years, is a Lead Instructor for the Fire Academy program at the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety, and serves on many focus groups in the department.

Sophia has earned multiple Unit citations, Lifesaving Commendations, and Administrative Commendations throughout her career and she holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University in Organizational Leadership.
