Frank Gonzalez serves as Battalion Chief of Health and Safety for the Coral Springs–Parkland Fire Department, bringing over 19 years of dedicated service, all on A Shift. His fire service journey began at age 15 in a Fire Explorer program, and he has since advanced through the ranks from Firefighter to Lieutenant, Captain, and now Battalion Chief.

Throughout his career, Frank has played a vital role in operations and personnel development. He has served as a Field Training Officer since 2011, mentored new firefighters, instructed at the EMS academy, and remains an active member of the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), Honor Guard, and Pipes and Drums. He has also contributed to the department’s promotional process, helping develop future leaders.

His service has been recognized with numerous commendations, including eight Unit Citations, eight Lifesaving Awards, a Phoenix Award, two Team Citations, and a Technical Rescue Recognition. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Fire Instructor and is committed to ongoing professional growth.

Frank is widely respected for his leadership and dedication to safety. He is married with four children and remains committed to serving both the department and the community.
