Rental Assistance


The Rental Increase Assistance Program will assist a minimum of 250 eligible households located within the City, whose annual rental increase has exceeded more than 5% from the start of the pandemic (April 2020) to present day. Eligible households can receive a maximum grant amount of $3,600 to assist with the difference in the rental increase (up to six months). All financial assistance will be paid directly to the landlord.

Step 1.Eligibility

  • Applicant(s) must have documented evidence of an annual lease agreements that have increased more than 5% in one leasing period.
  • Applicant(s) must be listed as the primary or secondary lease holder on the annual lease agreement.
  • Applicant(s) or household members must not have received any other financial assistance for the period in which they are requesting assistance.
  • Applicant(s) must meet the gross annual income not exceeding 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) limits established by HUD for the jurisdiction of Broward County, FL. The applicable low-income limits for determining program eligibility are published by HUD in the federal register and are updated annually.

Step 3.Apply

To apply, print (single-sided) and complete the application in blue or black ink. Please make additional copies of all required documentation. If unable to print, the application will be made available at City Hall.
