University Drive Mobility Improvement Project

Widening the roadway to accommodate two additional travel lanes and to increase the bike lanes from 4-feet to 7-feet from NW 40th Street to SR-869/Sawgrass Expressway
Relocating existing 6-foot sidewalk from NW 40th Street to SR-869/Sawgrass Expressway
Relocating impacted drainage structures
Regrading swales to ensure proper drainage flow
Upgrading traffic and pedestrian signals at NW 40th Street and Westview Drive
Installation of 77 light poles along the project corridor
Milling and resurfacing within the project limits
Upgrading curb ramps, signing, and pavement markings

Business and residential access will be maintained at all times throughout construction.
Speed limit change from 40 MPH to 35 MPH between Sample Road and Westview Drive.
University Drive from SR 834/West Sample Road to NW 40th Street will have one lane closed in each direction nightly, as needed, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., weeknights, for roadway paving operations. Additional nighttime lane closures in each direction along University Drive from NW 40th Street to Westview Drive may occur as needed, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., weeknights.
University Drive from SR 834/West Sample Road to Westview Drive will have one lane closed daily, as needed, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., weekdays and weekends, for signal installation, roadway reconstruction, and miscellaneous paving operations.
Intermittent side street closures throughout the project limits will occur as needed daily, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and nightly, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., weekdays and weekends.
