2026 Calendar Submission

We are looking for talented high school level students who are Coral Springs residents to submit original artwork that reflects the history and spirit of our community. Selected artwork will be featured in the calendar, with each piece representing a specific month’s theme.

Submit Deadline (extended): Monday, August 4th, 2025

Themes

Each month will have a different theme. For each theme, up to 5 artworks will be chosen to be judged. You can submit one artwork per theme—so you can enter every month if you want, but only once for each theme.

Students can research our history online at CoralSprings.gov/history, including searching our online archive for photos and inspiration.

  • January – Local History: Depictions of historical landmark such as Covered Bridge or First Sales Office (Historical Museum)
  • February – Serving the Community: Scenes from Volunteer Service, Scouts/etc., or Public Safety – Police/Fire.
  • March – New Beginnings: A vision of the city’s future – ex: Electra Lab homes, Westinghouse history with Coral Springs, Coral Ridge Properties.
  • April – Nature & Sustainability: The city’s parks and environmental efforts – ex: 50th Year of Tree City USA, Sawgrass Nature Center, ESLs, Earthfest.
  • May – Celebrating Art: Public Art installations, The Center or Museum of Art.
  • June – Summer in the City: Favorite local summer activities – ex: Cypress Water Park, Splash Pad, Kamp Kool, our many parks.
  • July – Celebrating Independence: How the city celebrates the Fourth of 4th of July (event/fireworks), how our city recognizes our veterans.
  • August – Back to School & Learning: The impact of education in the city – ex: School Pride, a scene from your school.
  • September – Hometown Pride: Iconic places, traditions or sports team – ex: local sports teams.
  • October – Heritage & Traditions: Festivals and celebrations – ex: city events through the years.
  • November – Gratitude & Reflection: What students are thankful for in their community – ex: their home, their family, the favorite spaces to enjoy life.
  • December – Holiday Spirit: Celebrations and traditions that bring people together – ex: our holiday parade, downtown lights, the traditional luminaria lighting the driveways in a neighborhood.
  • Cover of Calendar – Best in Show: Student’s artwork that was exceptional as chosen by the selection group. Not a category to enter, but a special showcase for one artist.

Submission Guidelines

Artwork Requirements:

  • Artwork must be original and created by the submitting student.
  • Accepted mediums: Drawings, paintings, photography, and digital artwork.
  • AI-generated or copied artwork will not be accepted—all work must be an original concept.
  • Submissions must relate to the designated month’s historical theme and connect to Coral Springs' history. Students can research our history online at CoralSprings.gov/history, including searching our online archive for photos and inspiration.
  • Artwork should be scanned or photographed in high-resolution (300 - 600 dpi) digital format for printing.
  • Acceptable file formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or PDF.

Artist Statement (Required):

  • Provide a brief explanation (150-300 words) about your artistic inspiration.
  • Describe how your artwork connects to the selected month's theme.
  • Explain its relevance to Coral Springs' history.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all high school students residents of Coral Springs.(includes Public, Private and Homeschool)
  • You can submit one artwork per theme—so you can enter every month if you want, but only once for each theme.
  • For each theme, up to 5 artworks will be chosen to be judged.

Submission Instructions

  • Complete this form with your personal information and artist statement.
  • Attach your digital artwork file (must be high-resolution, 300 dpi).
