Teen Safe Driving

The Teen Safe Driving Program was initiated in 2007 as an incentive to reward high school seniors who have maintained a safe driving record. Students must not have had an at-fault accident or traffic citation in the previous school year to qualify.

This program, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), promotes teen driving safety through education and awareness. It aims to develop lifelong safe driving habits and reduce behaviors that increase the risk of injury-related crashes. The program follows a similar structure to the Speed/Aggressive Driving Grant, identifying key locations and times to maximize its effectiveness in driver safety promotion.

Eligible seniors will receive a Safe Driving Blue Cord to wear at graduation. Applications may be submitted between April 1st and April 30th and must be turned in to their School Resource Officer (SRO).
