Safety Town

Safety Town logo

Safety Town is a nationally recognized program for children ages 4-6 years of age. Located at Kiwanis Park, the program has been in place for more than 29 years. The program, operated by Parks and Recreation in coordination with the police and fire departments will teach children valuable lessons about bike safety, fire safety, and personal safety. Each week long session concludes with a graduation ceremony on Fridays.

Overview

Step 1.Sessions

Offered in weekly sessions through the month of July at Kiwanis “Miss Mary’s Place.” Each class runs from 9 a.m. to noon and concludes with a graduation ceremony on Friday.

  • Session 1: June 9 - June 13
  • Session 2: July 7 -11
  • Session 3: August 4 - 8

Step 2.Cost

  • $50 per child (includes a t-shirt, workbook, snacks, and graduation ceremony)

Step 3.Registration

Participants can only enroll for 1 week throughout the summer. Space is limited to 30 kids per session. Registration cuts off for each session the Thursday before the session begin date.
