Lieutenant Sean Murray, Patrol Services

Lieutenant Sean Murray currently supervises a Platoon Alpha shift for the Coral Springs Police Department. He began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in March of 2008 and was sworn in as a law enforcement officer later that year. After spending four years on the road as a patrol officer, Lieutenant Murray was selected as a Field Training Officer. In 2013, Lieutenant Murray was transferred to the Burglary Enforcement and Reduction (BEAR) Unit.

Several years later, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and supervised a squad in the Patrol Unit. In addition to his regular assignments, Sean has served as a Field Training Officer and has been an active member of the SWAT team since 2012. In January of 2020, then-Sergeant Murray was transferred to the BEAR Unit to supervise the team he had worked so closely with just years prior.

Throughout his career, he has earned many department recognition awards including five Exceptional Police Initiative Commendations, four Team Citation Awards, three Life-saving Commendations, one Community Involvement Commendation and one distinction as Supervisor of the Year.

Lieutenant Murray graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice and a certificate in Public Administration.
