Captain Robert Cherry - Patrol Operations (Bravo)

Captain Robert Cherry currently supervises the Bravo shift for the Coral Springs Police Department. He began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in January of 2006 and was sworn in as a law enforcement officer later that year. Before beginning his law enforcement career, Captain Cherry honorably served in the United States Army from 1995 to 2003, gaining invaluable experience in leadership, discipline, and service.

A couple years after starting his career with CSPD, he was selected as a Field Training Officer, and in February of 2009, he became a member of the department’s SWAT team. Over the years, his assignments have included the Tactical and Gang (T.A.G.) Unit in November 2010, Road Patrol in November 2013, and the Bike Unit in June 2018. He also served as a Staff Inspections Officer beginning in July 2018.

Captain Cherry was promoted to Sergeant in 2020 and was assigned to supervise the Training Unit in September 2021. Throughout his career, he has earned many department recognitions including 3 Lifesaving Commendations, 4 Exceptional Police Initiative Commendations, 6 Team Citation Awards, 12 Letters of Appreciation, 4 Letters of Commendation, and 1 Community Involvement Commendation.

In February of 2025 Captain Cherry was promoted to his current rank. He continues to serve the Coral Springs community with integrity, dedication, and commitment to public safety.
