Lieutenant Joe McHugh, Operational Support

Joe McHugh currently serves as an Administrative Lieutenant for the Coral Springs Police Department. His responsibilities include overseeing Special Events, Police Vehicle Fleet and the Body Worn Camera Program. Prior to his current role McHugh served in the Patrol Unit as a Field Training Officer and the Traffic Unit as a motor officer until he was promoted to Sergeant in 2005. As a Sergeant he supervised the Patrol Unit, Training Unit and was the Department’s Public Information Officer until he was promoted to Lieutenant in 2010. McHugh began his career with the Coral Springs Police Department in 1996 as a Law Enforcement Officer.

McHugh graduated from Columbia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He has received two Meritorious Police Duty Commendations, three Excellent Police Duty Commendations, three Life Saving Commendations, two Team Citation Awards, a Community Involvement Award, Unit of the Year Award and numerous letters of commendation and employee recognitions throughout his career.
