District Chief Eduardo Lopez of  C-Shift

Eduardo Lopez currently serves as the District Chief of C-Shift for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. Chief Lopez started his career with the department as a Firefighter/Paramedic in September 1996. During his tenure, he has moved up the ranks and was promoted to Lead Paramedic in August 1998, Driver/Engineer in 2000, Lieutenant in 2003, Battalion Chief in 2007, Assistant Chief of EMS in 2008 and District Chief in 2023.

Chief Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from St. Thomas University and an associate degree in fire science from Broward Community College. Lopez was the liaison between the City of Coral Springs- Parkland Fire Department and the Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) Task Force II team for 15 years. Chief Lopez was a member of the USAR team for 18 years and held the positions of Rescue specialist & Safety Officer. As part of the USAR team, Chief Lopez deployed several times to assist with disasters.

Chief Lopez was a fire instructor at the fire academy for several years between 2003 and 2008. Chief Lopez was also part of the dive team and the Honor Guard from its inception until 2007; Chief Lopez served as a Field Training Officer and a member of the Promotional Division for several years. In 2008, Chief Lopez was selected as the 2008 Supervisor of the Year.

Chief Lopez holds Fire Officer I, II & III, Fire Instructor III, Florida State Safety Officer & Florida State Health & Safety Officer certifications. Chief Lopez also has his Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designator from the Center pf public excellence. Throughout his career Chief Lopez has received several lifesaving & citation awards.
