Assistant Chief Joe Skrumbellos

Joe Skrumbellos was hired with the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department in December 1995. He was promoted to Lead Paramedic in 1998 and to Captain in 2000. From 2005 to 2019, he also worked as a step-up Battalion Chief. After 21 years as a company officer, Joe was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2019 and is currently the shift commander of A-shift.

Joe has an associate degree in Fire Science from Keiser University. He co-founded the Fire Department Dive Team in 2000 and remained with the team until 2017. Joe spent many years as a Fire Academy Instructor teaching dive operation, driver/engineer courses, and minimum standards. He is a Field Training Officer currently involved in officer development for the department and is a member of our Peer Support Team. Joe received the Supervisor of the Year award in 2011 and has also received multiple unit and team citations for various fire and rescue calls throughout his career.
