Danny Nyer currently serves as the Battalion Chief, A-Shift, for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. Prior to serving in his current role, Nyer has served in many capacities as a member of the department. Nyer has served as a Captain, a Driver/Engineer, a Firefighter/Paramedic, Field Training Officer (FTO), and was the lead of the Promotional Division through Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS). Nyer first started as a Fire Explorer at age 15 and joined the department as an employee in July 2004.

Nyer was named supervisor of the year twice (2004 and 2021), has received four Unit Citations, three Lifesaving Commendations, and two Technical Rescue Commendations.

Nyer holds an associate degree in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
