Scott J. Brook, Mayor of the City of Coral Springs and renowned family law attorney, was sworn in for an additional term as Mayor on November 30, 2022. Brook served as a city commissioner starting in 2002, as Mayor from 2006 to 2010, and was elected Mayor again in March 2019, following the sudden passing of our dear friend, Mayor Skip Campbell, in October 2018.
While serving as an elected official for Coral Springs, Brook consistently demonstrates his commitment to bridging the gap between citizens and local government, further promoting transparency and a united community.
During his first term as Mayor, the City of Coral Springs became the first city in the USA to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Brook serves on numerous Boards and Committees in Coral Springs and beyond. He is the founder of the Coral Springs Customer-Involved Government Committee and serves as a Commission Liaison for the Community Ambassador Program, Financial Advisory Committee, Parent Education Group, and Public Art Committee. He is also a co-founder of Premier Networking Alliance and Project Leadership, the Mental Wellness Networking Alliance. In addition, he serves as the Florida League of Mayors President (sworn in August 2023), and on the Coral Springs Charter School Board of Directors.
Mayor Brook is the winner of a Telly Award and an Emmy Award recipient for a powerful video where he shares a personal heartfelt message about suicide awareness and prevention. Mayor Brook remains a tireless advocate for mental health awareness and continually works to improve the mental wellbeing of the community.
In 1985, he graduated from Tulane University, where he remained to obtain an MBA on a fellowship. Brook graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. As a member of the Florida Bar, he has practiced successfully before the Florida Supreme Court, the First District Court of Appeal, and many other Courts throughout Florida.
A former partner at Brodzki Jacobs & Brook law firm, Brook founded the firm Scott J. Brook, P.A., in March 2020. His practice centers on solutions to divorce, child issues, modification, domestic violence, and estate planning. As a partner in the law firm, he advocates for families and parents by leading community conversations that encourage Coral Springs and other residents throughout the Tri-County area, business owners, and visitors to work together like a family.
