Lift Station 22, 21D and New Force Main Construction

Construction of a new force main will occur along NW 85th Avenue, between West Sample Road and Forest Hills Boulevard, and along the right-of-way on the north side of Sunshine Water Control District’s Canal H. The rehabilitation of Lift Station 22A will occur at the site located on the northeast corner of NW 85th Avenue and Forest Hills Boulevard. The rehabilitation of Lift Station 21D will occur at the site located within Mullins Park, along Coral Springs Drive.

As part of the Water and Sewer Capital Improvement program, the City will rehabilitate two lift stations and replace the existing sanitary sewer force main along NW 85th Avenue from West Sample Road to Forest Hills Boulevard, and along a portion of the right-of-way on the north side of Sunshine Water Control District’s Canal H. The rehabilitation of Lift Station 22A and 21D and new force main construction are vital upgrades to our wastewater conveyance system, including the installation of approximately 2,200 total feet of ductile iron pipe.

Project Scope

The will include the following:

  • Install underground pipe
  • Mill and resurface roadway along pipeline route
  • Replace landscaping and sod impacted by construction
  • Repair driveways and roads impacted by construction

 

Traffic Impact

  • Work along NW 85th Avenue and Sample Road will be performed at night, between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Work within the lift station sites and the canal right-of-way will be performed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • No work will be conducted during school drop-off (7:30 – 8:15 a.m.) and school pick-up (1:30 – 2:15 p.m.)

When intermittent road closures are required, detours will be posted to allow residents access. The contractor will ensure access for residents at all times. The force main system will always remain operational.
