Phase 3

Wiles Road from University Drive to Riverside Drive

  • Currently working south side/eastbound lanes of Wiles Road. Estimated to be completed by May 2023
  • Estimated to begin work on west side of University within 2-3 weeks

Improvements

  • Increase capacity by adding one thru lane in each direction, improve traffic flow and safety,
  • Manage access by re-configuring raised medians and improve drainage.
  • Wiles Road will be transformed from a 4-lane divided roadway to a 6-lane divided roadway with bike lanes, curb & gutter, and sidewalks on both sides.
  • Additionally, a new storm water management system will be installed inclusive of french drains, cross drains, interconnecting pipes and new outfalls.
  • L-Walls will be constructed to minimize excavation impacts to adjacent properties.
  • Signalization improvements will be done at University Drive, throughout the corridor upgrading signing and pavement markings and installation of new lighting conduits.
  • Installation of new landscaping and irrigation system.
