The City of Coral Springs, as the Project Sponsor, was awarded funding by the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and agreed that FDOT, District Four, design and construct the Coral Ridge Drive Mobility Improvement Project. The Broward MPO is investing over $300 million to create safer, healthier communities in Broward County. This project is one of many within a larger plan to create enhanced bicycle, pedestrian, and public transportation access throughout the Broward region. FDOT is pleased to assist the City of Coral Springs and Broward MPO in delivering their vision and provides the following information on this mobility improvement project.


  • Widening the roadway to accommodate 6-foot buffered bike lanes
  • Constructing sidewalks at existing gaps and reconstructing sidewalk ramps
  • Upgrading vehicle and pedestrian signalization at West Atlantic Boulevard, Royal Palm Boulevard and Wiles Road
  • Repairing bridge deck joints on the Coral Ridge Drive bridge (Bridge No. 864098) over the C-14 Canal
  • Modifying and relocating drainage structures
  • Milling, resurfacing and adding pavement markings
