Coral Springs, FL – An Earthfest Celebration event, hosted by the City of Coral Springs, will take place on Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital (3000 Sportsplex Dr.)

The free event will provide Coral Springs residents the opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day while experiencing environmentally friendly displays and activities. This year’s EarthFest event will feature nature exhibits and plant giveaways for Coral Springs residents only.

Guests can also learn more about the Coral Springs Community Garden, a joint effort between the City of Coral Springs, the Rotary Club of Coral Springs, and resident volunteers to establish a multi-faceted garden that includes herbs, vegetables, perennial plants, a memorial garden, and a food forest.

Additionally, starting at 9 a.m., the city will host a Keep Coral Springs Beautiful Clean-Up throughout the city. Volunteers will work to beautify Coral Spring by cleaning trash and litter along city streets and neighborhoods. The city is currently seeking volunteers ages 14 and older for the clean-up. Student volunteers can receive community service hours for participating. More information about volunteering, including a registration form can be found by visiting Once registered, volunteers will receive further communication about the event and will be assigned a location.
“Earth Day and Arbor Day give us a chance each year to shift our focus to our natural surroundings and learn about all that Coral Springs has to offer.” Commissioner Nancy Metayer said. “From our Community Garden, our Backyard Habitat Program, and our upcoming Sustainability Action Plan -- we are fortunate to live in a city that truly values and works to protect its natural beauty.”
