Construction of Basketball courts at Cypress Hammock Park

Coral Springs, FL – On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, the City Commission approved the construction of two full basketball courts that will be located at Cypress Hammock Park. In September 2020, the city installed pickleball courts to provide residents with new sports activities. However, the City of Coral Springs recognizes the importance and availability of basketball courts and actively worked to provide a resolution for basketball enthusiasts.

Mayor Scott J. Brook said, “Pickleball is a fast-growing sport that many of our residents have come to enjoy, including me. However, when new pickleball courts were installed that replaced the basketball courts at Cypress Park, several residents expressed their frustration. We, as a Commission, listened. As a city, we want to ensure our parks and facilities are enjoyable for all recreational activities. I am very proud that city staff developed a great solution, constructing new full courts for basketball enthusiasts.”

Construction is expected to begin in late summer; weather permitting. Free parking is available on-site during operational hours.
