Recreation Access Discount Program

Overview

Income barriers should not prevent a child from participating in a city Parks and Recreation class. That’s why we developed a discount program for low-income families that will allow qualifying residents to enroll in select classes at a free or discounted rate. 

Step 1.Guidelines

  • Participation will be limited to the first 60 households per registration period.
  • Interested families must demonstrate financial need, and provide proof of residency
  • Total annual household income must not exceed 180% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the previous tax year to qualify.
  • In lieu of a physical card, a credit of $200 will be added to the resident’s household account and deducted as they register for classes and programs with Coral Springs Parks and Recreation.
  • The credit is only applicable for participants who are under 18. 

    Step 2.Fill Out an Application

    Two registration periods:

    • October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024
    • April 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024

    Interested families must complete an application process at the Coral Springs Gymnasium (2501 Coral Springs Drive.) The application can also be downloaded, completed, and delivered to the Coral Springs Gymnasium.

    Required Documentation:

    • Proof of Residency (Current utility bill in the same person’s name)
    • Copy of previous year’s federal income tax 1040 form showing gross adjusted income
    • W-2 or documentation of unemployment insurance  

    Step 3.Register for a Class

    The following classes are available through this program:

    • 5678 Dance
    • Grit Ninja
    • Reign Volleyball
    • Triple Threat Basketball
    • Okinawa Karate
    • Funtastic Gymnastics
    • Lil Star Sports
    • Junior Tennis classes
