The City of Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department assists the public in the protection of life and property. The department preserves life and property through emergency medical services, fire suppression, risk reduction, public education, and community partnerships.

Fire Chief John Whalen

Chief Whalen has been in the Fire service since 1993 and has held nearly every position, including EMS Division Chief and Chief of Special Operations. In December 2019, while serving as Assistant Chief for Bravo Shift, he was selected by former Fire Chief Frank Babinec to serve as Interim Fire Chief when Babinec began his role as Coral Springs City Manager.

The Community Risk Reduction Division is dedicated to evaluating our community risks from natural and man-made disasters, hazards and injury, developing and delivering programs to prevent or minimize such occurrences, consistent with the high value the community places on the health and safety of all its residents, employees and visitors.

  • Fire Fee Payments: payments can be made by credit card (either online or over the phone), or by mailing a check to our office. Link to online payment can be found on your invoice.
  • Mobile Food Vehicles: Vendors should call 954-346-1396 when you arrive, park in front of our office and wait for an inspector to meet you outside.
  • Bedroom Smoke Alarm Affidavits: Homeowners, please mail the original signed/notarized Affidavit to our office.

Coral Springs Community Emergency Response Team

The City of Coral Springs Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates residents about disaster preparedness and how to respond to emergency situations in their community. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders and provide immediate assistance to victims at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community. Learn more

Coral Springs Firefighters Benevolent Association 

The Coral Springs Professional Firefighters Benevolent Association are the members of the Coral Springs Fire Department, our organization includes members from suppression (Firefighters), prevention (Inspectors) and administration (Chiefs and Assistants).
