Robert Hunter

Robert Hunter is the City of Coral Springs Parks and Recreation Director. He joined the City of Coral Springs in 2018 to serve as Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. Prior to joining the city, Hunter served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for West Feliciana Parish in Saint Francisville, Louisiana.

Hunter holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, specializing in Sport Management. He is also a certified lifeguard, playground safety inspector and attended aquatics facility training. He is highly skilled in event management and oversees the City’s Special Event Planning Group.

Born and raised in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, Hunter began his public service career as a Youth Coordinator, followed by Recreation Director in Penn Hills, PA, before returning to his hometown to serve as their Recreation Director. While Hunter enjoyed his career in Pennsylvania, he and his wife Stacey, had always committed to living in other parts of the country that were not nearly as cold in the winter, so when the opportunity to relocate to Louisiana presented itself, Hunter accepted. Since one of his favorite hobbies is cooking, especially Cajun food, this was a great opportunity.

After learning about the career opportunity for the Parks and Recreation Department in Coral Springs, Hunter did his research and soon learned about the city’s commitment to excellence, their vast parks system and facilities. He applied to serve as Assistant Director and was selected for the position based on his previous experience.

Hunter and Stacey reside in Coral Springs with their children, Jacob and Emily. He is an avid bowler who enjoys training and spending time with his family.
