Headshot of Kristi Bartlett, Director of Economic Development

Kristi Bartlett joined the City of Coral Springs in November 2018. A graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF), Bartlett earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science. With an expansive career in Economic Development, Bartlett had her first exposure to the industry while working at UCF within a division responsible for bringing the Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute to Orlando.

During her time with UCF, Bartlett found it fascinating to see partners work together, both public and private sectors – all focused on the benefits to the community. That positive experience changed Bartlett’s career trajectory, which led her to work in high-level Economic Development positions within Collier County for 11 years. These include the Economic Development Council, the Board of County Commissioners, and The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. In her most recent position at the chamber, Bartlett served as Vice President. She wrote and successfully obtained a $3.09 million grant to expand the machining program at a local technical college. In addition to leading the chamber’s public-policy program, Bartlett was responsible for planning and implementing the yearly schedule for Opportunity Naples.

In her role as Director of Economic Development for the City of Coral Springs, Bartlett implements the economic development strategy for the city, including business retention, expansion, and attraction. She oversees the Coral Springs Community Redevelopment Agency and its Board of Directors. She is spearheading the redevelopment of Downtown Coral Springs with projects such as Cornerstone and City Village.

Since heading up the Economic Development Office, Bartlett created an incentive program to increase property values through redevelopment and development projects. She has also assisted with several local relocations and expansions, including Decimal Engineering, Flora Fine Foods, and Decoral.

Bartlett and her family relocated from the west coast of Florida to Coral Springs. Bartlett is a Certified Economic Developer and graduate of the Advanced Economic Development Leadership Program. She also received her designation as a Florida Redevelopment Professional in 2022 from the Florida Redevelopment Association.
